00:00 The question is what happens if I miss a court date?
00:03 Okay, now the number one thing that you need to understand is that the Bexar County
00:08 Courthouse is no place to bury your head in the sand.
00:11 Alright, the fact of the matter is that if you miss a court date
00:14 as soon as you find out you need to be contacting your lawyer, you need to be
00:18 upfront with them about exactly what's happening.
00:21 That attorney needs to see what they can do. Now if it's soon enough
00:24 they can try to stop a warrant from ever happening. They can go to the court,
00:27 they could talk to the judge. They may even be able to get it to where you can show up perhaps
00:31 the next day, the day after that. The other thing that could possibly happen is they can talk to the
00:35 bondsman. They can talk to any number of people to try to see what they can do to mitigate the
00:40 damages that have been done. The ultimate thing that could happen if you miss a court date is
00:45 the judge is going to revoke your bond. They may even remand you and that's going to be up to you
00:49 and your attorney to try to see what you can do to stop that. And if the warrant is already placed,
00:54 try to see what they can do about getting a new bond.
00:56 And hopefully it's something that you can take care of
00:59 in the satellite office
01:00 in the basement of the Bexar County Courthouse.
01:02 So you're in and you're out in about three or four hours.
01:05 But under no circumstances
01:07 do you just bury your head in the sand
01:09 and say, hopefully it's gonna go away.
01:10 Because ladies and gentlemen, I'm here to tell you,
01:13 that type of mentality
01:14 is only gonna make the situation worse.
